Trevor Noah: Born a Crime; Stories from a South African Childhood.
Trevor Noah is a South African comedian and host of “The Daily Show”. Born a crime includes his memories of growing up in South Africa during the apartheid. Born to a white swiss father and a black xhosa mother was itself a crime. Growing up in apartheid South Africa, dealing with mixed race, faith, feminism, abuse, inequalities, discriminations this book expresses a lot of emotions.. He was a white kid in black community, black kid in white community. When Noah was small his mother used to ask a white lady to take him for walk and she used to follow them as if she was their domestic help. His mother born to patriarchal African family despite of all odes made into a independent working woman is the hero in this book. His mischievous childhood, crushes, living in a single roomed apartment, growing up in white black and coloured communities , living in a garage when his family was in debt, abusive stepfather, illegal activities often we think his life was such a mess. But Noah being a true comedian made sure that we would laugh at all those heartfelt moments.
